Ph.D. position in plant hormone signaling
Technical University Munich (TUM), Germany. A Ph.D. position is available in the lab of Brigitte Poppenberger (Technical University Munich) to study events that regulate the function of the recently discovered transcription factor CESTA, which regulates brassinosteroid (BR) biosynthesis and other BR responses in Arabidopsis thaliana (Poppenberger et al. 2011, EMBO J. 30(6): 1149-1161). In particular it is aimed to define the role of posttranslational modifications in the control of CESTA localization and activity and characterize CESTA interacting factors.

The Ph.D. will be carried out at the campus Weihenstephan of the Technical University Munich (http://www.wzw.tum.de), which is located in Freising, approx. 30 km north of Munich, Germany. An initial training period of three months, is required to be performed at the Max F. Perutz Laboratories of the University of Vienna in Vienna, Austria.
If you have a suitable educational background (plant molecular biology, plant genetics), are highly motivated and interested in the position, please apply by sending a letter of application, your CV and the names and contact information of three referees to Dr. Brigitte Poppenberger, Max F. Perutz Laboratories, Dr. Bohr-Gasse 9/4, A-1030 Vienna, Austria or by email to brigitte.poppenberger(at)univie.ac.at
